Results of the discussion round
The discussion at the digital lunch talk revealed the following:

  • It is extremely important to deal with the issue of perspective change in advance and to think about what you want to do then.
  • The fears that many women had in connection with the change of perspective tended not to be realised. It almost always turned out much better than previously thought!
  • When you leave your previous professional life, you lose something (e.g. power, status symbols, salary), but you also gain something (freedom, flexibility, being in control of your own schedule...).
  • Volunteering is an option, but rather complementary. Ultimately, remuneration is also a matter of appreciation.
  • Communication is important! What am I offering now? What do I want? What am I doing? This should be clear in the external presentation
  • Networking and exchange is helpful (e.g. good opportunities in the Senior Professionals Working Group?)

Questions and additions from the chat were also addressed.

We sincerely thank the panellists for their openness and sharing their experiences. It was very inspiring!
