CFA Institute: Smart women - big ideas

Barbara Stewart, CFA and author of the Rich Thinking® series of white papers on women and financial issues will discuss the high level findings of her 9th annual white paper released in March 2019. Stewart asked 55 women the questions: What is the biggest idea you have ever had in your life? Where did you get that idea, what did you do with it, how did you invest in it, and what ended up happening?
Barbara will discuss the implications of this research for the investment industry. The global finance culture is changing quickly as we are undergoing a radical shift in socialization. Financial institutions around the world are rapidly realising that women represent a lucrative business opportunity and they are becoming today’s largest, most important and most underserved target market.
We need to put Big Ideas first on our list of topics to discuss with clients and potential clients. Women are getting these ideas all the time, and in most cases need to finance them, fund them in size, and do it yesterday. Barbara will talk about what women want in 2019 in terms of financial services and communication and highlight some of the most progressive models today in the women and wealth space.
