At this year's Women's Run, five of us from Fondsfrauen participated – four runners and one coach.
It started with drizzly weather on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Despite the rain, the atmosphere among the more than 3,500 runners at the start was so great that we were all glad we had overcome our inner doubts and decided to participate. Our T-shirts bore the slogan "Nothing runs without women in the financial industry"... we just had to spread this message to the world!
We ran along Lake Constance, from the Seehotel Kaiserstrand in Lochau to the Bodenseestadion in Bregenz. Participants could take walking breaks or just walk – either 5 or 10 kilometers. Along the route, there were cheering fans, water stations, encouraging music, and refreshments at the finish line.
Laura Schürmann (39:23 minutes, 10 km) and Sabine Reiner (18:21 minutes, 5 km) were the first to cross the finish line, securing the best times over ten and five kilometers, respectively. Unfortunately, we couldn't keep up with such speeds, but we enjoyed the fantastic atmosphere and the run. Maybe next year, there will be a few more of us running for the "Fondsfrauen" team.
