The Sustainable Investor Summit on 24th and 25th of May in Frankfurt was a big success, with well over 220 attendees.

There was also a panel on gender & diversity investing, moderated by Fondsfrau Anke Dembowski. Here are the key takeaways of that panel:

Jessica Espinoza, Chief Executive Officer, 2X Collaborative:
“Gender lens investing resonates not only with impact-driven investors but increasingly with mainstream investors, given a strong business and impact case. The 2X initiative raised over $11 billion of gender lens investments in 3 years, demonstrating the potential across asset classes and regions.”

Sana Kapadia, Head of Content, GenderSmart:
“As sustainable investing deepens and becomes more nuanced, incorporating a gender and broader diversity lens stands to improve investment decision making as well as financial and social outcomes.”

Leanne Mair, Founder & Managing Director, Benefactum Consulting:
“ESG is just as important to investments as it is to internal culture. Gender Equality firmly sits within the ‘S’ and should be a clear part of any firms Diversity & Inclusion strategy. Specificity is key.”

Anke Dembowski, Co-Founder, Managing Director, Fondsfrauen:
“Gender and diversity investing is no longer a niche issue any more, but is part of the ESG discussion in financials. It does matter from a business case perspective.”
